I am Fr. Dominador Salinas Popen Jr. and my religious name is Fr. Oswald. I am 40 years old. I am a Filipino from the province of Negros Occidental, Visayan Region, Philippines. My parents are Dominador Popen Sr. who passed away already and Glenda Salinas Popen who is still with us. We are three siblings; my elder brother Reynaldo and his wife live and work in Japan and my younger sister Gina, a teacher by profession, stayed in the Philippines with her husband who works as a seafarer. I am the second child.
I have been a member of the Religious Institute of the Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross (MMHC) since 2001. I finished college at the Mater Dei College Seminary with Bachelors Degree in Education Major in Philosophy and minor in English. Then I completed my Bachelors degree in Theology at the Pontifical University of Santo Tomas, Manila. With God's great goodness & grace, I was ordained a priest in 2009. I've been blessed to serve as a priest for 13 years.
In the MMHC community, I was assigned first at the MMHC Sta. Ana Aspirant House as Aspirant Director (2009 - 2010). Then became a local treasurer at MMHC Bataan Mission (2010 – 2014). Afterwhich, I was transferred and assigned as Parish Priest/Pastor at the Divine Mercy Parish, a mission parish administered by the MMHC Dumaguete Mission Community(2014 – 2020) and lastly, I was sent to the Loyola Retreat House in MMHC Angono, Mission as Local Superior and at the same time a chaplain at the Cainta Catholic College.
As I continue my journey as missionary, I plead to the Lord to send me the Holy Spirit for this new assignment, USA Mission- To the place where I am not familiar with and facing new challenges and gaining new learnings. Rest assure that I will do my best, with Jesus' & Mary's help, for this mission.
